Nice playlist. I live down in Starkville and used to do somethingsimilar on WMSV but alas no longer. Next time I'm in Memphass I'll try to tune in your station WEVL. Were they going for Howlin' Wolf or cotton pest with those call letters?.

as someone who spent a decade in the Bay Area (1986-96), seeing deerhoof on a southern playlist made my day!

So, Hayden, are you gonna tease us with some glimpses of tomorrow's (2/3) playlist? I know it won't be done until Thursday at 3:37 or so (or until you're in the studio), but maybe we blog visitors could get a little something extra for our time.

By the way, I too would love it if WEVL had a webcast. The unofficial word I got from the station manager about it last fall is that with their quite limited resources and the government's unlimited rules, WEVL just can't broadcast over the web right now. But if I (or I guess, Hayden) hear otherwise, it will be shouted from the mountaintops.

And bulb, according to the about page of the WEVL website, the call letters stand for WE VoLunteer. But I don't really buy it. I suspect the sneaky boll weevil.

from the lucky 100th visitor to The Music Lovers--where's my free ipod?
