Furry Friends and Monsieur Jeffrey Evans Tonight!

Tune in tonight at 6 pm CST when members of the Oregon surf/garage band Satan's Pilgrims stop by WEVL for a visit. They're in town to perform at the Furry Friends Guardian Angels fundraiser, along with Impala, Amy Lavere, Eric Lewis, Jimmy Davis, Tommy Burroughs and more.

After that, Monsieur Jeffrey Evans is back as special guest host - this time on the Rock House (normally hosted by Lonnie). He'll be playing some fantastic rockabilly music from his personal collection tonight from 7-9 pm CST, so don't miss it!

High Fidelity Tonight!

High Fidelity isn't just a program here on WEVL (which does air tonight from Midnight - 2am), it's also the title of Nick Hornby's novel about the world of music snobbery (as well as Hornby's common man's hero Rob Fleming searching to grow up and find a meaningful relationship). If you have ever spent hours scrutinizing the order of a mix tape for a special someone, then you understand the character of Rob Fleming. Author Hornby will be making an apperance at the Michael D. Rose Theatre tonight at 7pm on the U of M campus. The event is free and open to the public.

For more information, click here.

(Of course, High Fidelity is also the electronic reproduction of sound as well as a song by Elvis Costello.)

Are You Listening Tuesday Afternoons?

Since the Lovers fancies itself as a showcase for new releases, there is a lot of great current music out there that only gets played once on the show and then is never heard from again. Well, that isn't neccesarily true because many of the tunes you hear on the Lovers can also be heard on WEVL every Tuesday from 4 - 6pm. Check it out!

Hosted by Brian and Judy.
