Matisyahu w/Mobius Band Tonight!
Matisyahu, the Hasidic Reggae Superstar, performs tonight at the Hi Tone. I wasn't able to get the audio section of his website to work but maybe you'll have better luck. You can also check out the non-profit record label JDub to discover other Jewish artists such as Balkan Beat Box and So Called.
Opening up for Matisyahu is the Mobius Band whose single "The Loving Sounds of Static" was played on the Lovers on 7/28.
Fruit Bats - Photos from the Deli
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make the Walkie Talkie set due to working on a Three 6 Mafia shoot, but the very lovely Apryl got some photos:

The Fruit Bats Tonight!
The Fruit Bats are playing what I believe to be their first show in Memphis at the Deli tonight. These Chicagoans have released two fantastic albums on the Sub Pop label: Mouthfuls (2003) and Spelled In Bones (2005). Click here to listen to some mp3's.
And make sure to get to the show early so you can catch those excellent locals Walkie Talkie perform the opening band duties. Check out their Myspace page to listen to a few songs from their 2004 release, Proud Giraffe Walking Tall.
